Florida Power and Light Company Given Go Ahead For Solar Power Facilities

On the 15 July, the Florida Public Services Commission granted FPL permission to begin work on three major Solar Power plants across the state. Scientists at the Carnegie Institution’s Department of Global Ecology studying satellite date have found that only 1 to 2 percent of forest disturbance in the Peruvian Amazon occured in protected areas, which means that land-use and conservation policies have been successful. Cuba to Plant 135 Million Trees

The UN Environment Program (UNEP) international tree planting campaign, “Plant for the Planet:Billion Tree Campaign”, aimed at recovering forests globally has begun garnering support.
